Important Shipping Terms & Conditions

China2SA Logistics

By using China2SA’s services, you acknowledge and agree to the following Shipping Terms & Conditions. These terms apply to goods received, handled, stored, consolidated, purchased, shipped, or otherwise processed by China2SA.

1. Package Storage and Abandoned Packages

Customers are responsible for ensuring that packages received at the China2SA warehouse are claimed, processed, paid for, or shipped within the applicable storage period.

Any package that remains unpaid, unprocessed, unclaimed, or inactive for more than 30 days from the date the package arrives at the warehouse may be removed from the customer’s active account and treated as abandoned.

Any package or mail that remains unclaimed for more than 60 days from the date it arrives at the warehouse may automatically be considered abandoned. Both periods are counted from the date of arrival, not from the end of any complimentary storage period.

Once goods are considered abandoned, China2SA reserves the right, subject to applicable law, to dispose of, recycle, donate, return, or sell the goods without refund or compensation to the customer.

China2SA will not be responsible for any loss arising from goods being abandoned due to the customer failing to provide instructions, make payment, or respond to communications.

2. Shipping Methods

All goods must be shipped using shipping methods offered by China2SA.

Customers may not arrange third-party couriers, private collection services, freight companies, or other outside shipping methods to collect goods from a China2SA warehouse.

China2SA reserves the right to determine which shipping methods are available based on the nature, weight, dimensions, value, destination, and regulatory requirements of the goods.

3. Account Suspension or Closure

China2SA reserves the right to suspend, restrict, refuse service to, or close a customer account where we reasonably suspect fraudulent, illegal, abusive, dangerous, or suspicious activity or a violation of these Terms & Conditions.

Illegal activity, prohibited goods, fraudulent transactions, false customs declarations, or misuse of China2SA’s services may be reported to the relevant authorities.

4. Payments, Cancellations and Refunds

Payments made for purchases, service fees, freight, handling, consolidation, storage, insurance, or other services are non-refundable once the relevant service has been performed, costs have been incurred, goods have been purchased, or shipping has been arranged.

Where China2SA purchases goods on behalf of a customer, an order cannot normally be cancelled once the supplier has accepted or processed the purchase.

Any supplier refund remains subject to the supplier’s own refund policy and any costs already incurred by China2SA.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions is intended to exclude or restrict any rights that cannot legally be excluded under applicable consumer protection law.

5. Import, Export and Customs Compliance

All goods must comply with the applicable laws, regulations and requirements of China, South Africa, customs authorities, border-control authorities, shipping carriers, and other relevant regulatory bodies.

Customers are responsible for ensuring that the goods they purchase or request China2SA to purchase are legal and permitted to be exported from China and imported into South Africa.

China2SA may refuse to receive, purchase, process, consolidate, or ship any item that does not comply with applicable laws, customs requirements, carrier restrictions, or China2SA policies.

6. Prohibited, Restricted or Illegal Goods

China2SA does not knowingly purchase, handle, consolidate, transport, or ship illegal, counterfeit, dangerous, restricted, or prohibited goods.

Goods suspected of being illegal, prohibited, fraudulent, counterfeit, dangerous, or otherwise unlawful may be refused, quarantined, surrendered, discarded, or handed to customs, law-enforcement agencies, carriers, or other relevant authorities where required or permitted by law.

China2SA will not be responsible for goods confiscated, seized, destroyed, rejected, or otherwise dealt with by customs or another authority because the goods are prohibited, restricted, incorrectly declared, or unlawful.

Refunds will not be provided by China2SA for goods confiscated, seized, destroyed, or forfeited as a consequence of unlawful conduct or a breach of these Terms, except where required by applicable law.

7. Customs Duties, VAT, Taxes and Import Charges

Unless expressly stated otherwise in writing, China2SA shipping quotations and shipping fees do not include South African customs duties, import VAT, taxes, customs penalties, inspections, storage charges, clearance fees, permits, levies, or other government or authority-related charges.

These charges are determined by the relevant authorities and remain the responsibility of the customer or recipient.

Where a shipment is quoted on a DDU/DAP or equivalent unpaid-duty basis, the customer or recipient is responsible for paying applicable duties, VAT, taxes, and clearance charges before the goods can be released or delivered.

China2SA cannot guarantee the amount of duties, VAT, taxes, or other charges that customs authorities may impose.

8. Customs Declarations

Customers must provide complete, accurate and truthful information regarding the description, quantity, value, intended use, and nature of their goods.

China2SA will not knowingly declare goods at an incorrect value, provide false descriptions, or otherwise misrepresent goods to customs authorities.

The customer remains responsible for information supplied to China2SA for customs and shipping purposes.

Where incorrect information supplied by the customer requires documentation or customs declarations to be amended, additional administration, storage, customs, or carrier charges may apply.

9. Package Inspection

All packages received by China2SA may be opened and inspected where reasonably necessary for receiving, identification, consolidation, safety, export compliance, customs compliance, carrier requirements, or quality-control purposes.

Packages may also be inspected by warehouse operators, shipping carriers, Chinese customs, South African customs, or other competent authorities.

Inspection by China2SA does not constitute certification of the quality, authenticity, legality, quantity, specification, safety, functionality, or condition of the goods.

10. Incorrect Address or Missing Account Details

Customers are responsible for ensuring that suppliers and senders use the correct China2SA warehouse address and include all required customer identification information, including the customer’s name, account number, suite number, reference number, or other information specified by China2SA.

China2SA cannot be held responsible for packages that are lost, delayed, rejected, misdelivered, or incorrectly allocated because incorrect or incomplete information was supplied by the customer, supplier, merchant, factory, courier, or sender.

Additional charges may apply where China2SA is required to investigate, identify, redirect, or manually allocate a package received without the required information.

11. Damaged Packages and Missing Contents

China2SA reserves the right to refuse delivery of any package showing obvious external signs of serious damage, tampering, leakage, or missing contents.

Where possible, the customer will be notified if a damaged package is refused or if visible damage is identified during normal receiving or handling.

China2SA does not undertake a detailed inspection of every product and does not guarantee the condition, quality, quantity, authenticity, specification, performance, or functionality of goods received from a supplier.

If visible damage is identified, China2SA may place the package on hold and notify the customer.

The customer must then provide instructions regarding whether the goods should be returned, retained, or shipped.

If the customer instructs China2SA in writing to ship goods after being informed of visible damage, the customer accepts the risks associated with shipping the goods in that condition, subject to any rights that cannot legally be excluded.

Return shipping, handling, storage, collection, repacking, or other charges may apply where goods are returned to a supplier.

Unless China2SA purchased the goods under its We Buy For You service, communication and disputes with the original seller regarding refunds, replacements, returns, warranties, product quality, or missing items remain the customer’s responsibility.

12. Consolidation and Repacking

Where requested or appropriate, China2SA may consolidate multiple packages into a single shipment to reduce unnecessary packaging and potentially lower shipping costs.

Consolidation, repacking, inspection, or preparation generally requires 2–4 business days, although processing times may increase during busy periods, public holidays, customs disruptions, or unusually large shipments.

China2SA does not guarantee that consolidation will always result in a lower freight cost because freight may be calculated using actual weight, volumetric weight, dimensions, destination, commodity type, or other carrier criteria.

13. Delivery and Transit Times

Any delivery date, shipping time, consolidation time, estimated arrival date, or transit period provided by China2SA is an estimate only and is not guaranteed.

Delivery times may be affected by customs inspections, customs clearance, carrier delays, airline or vessel schedules, port congestion, public holidays, weather, strikes, documentation issues, regulatory inspections, incorrect declarations, force majeure events, or other circumstances outside China2SA’s reasonable control.

China2SA will not be responsible for delays caused by carriers, customs authorities, government agencies, ports, airlines, shipping lines, incorrect customer information, missing documentation, or circumstances beyond China2SA’s reasonable control.

14. Insurance

Shipping insurance may be available or recommended for certain shipments.

Where insurance is selected, the insurance is subject to the terms, conditions, exclusions, limits, excesses, and claims procedures of the relevant insurer or insurance provider.

China2SA currently recommends shipping insurance calculated at 6% of the declared or purchase value of the goods, where applicable.

Insurance does not automatically guarantee that a claim will be approved or paid.

Customers who decline available insurance accept the increased financial risk associated with loss or damage during transportation, subject to applicable law.

15. We Buy For You Service

China2SA offers a We Buy For You service through which customers may request that China2SA source or purchase goods from suppliers in China on their behalf.

Customers may provide China2SA with product links, photographs, specifications, quantities, supplier details, or other purchasing instructions.

China2SA will provide the customer with a quotation payable in South African Rands (ZAR).

Unless otherwise stated in writing, China2SA charges a 15% buying service fee for this service.

The service fee may cover purchasing administration and associated payment, banking, foreign-exchange, card, PayPal, processing, and transaction costs incurred in facilitating the purchase.

China2SA will purchase the goods after the required payment has been received and cleared.

China2SA will use reasonable care to purchase the product according to the customer’s approved specifications. However, product manufacturing, quality, warranties, specifications, availability, and supplier performance ultimately remain dependent upon the relevant supplier or manufacturer.

Any material supplier issue identified by China2SA will, where reasonably possible, be communicated to the customer.

16. Product Pricing and Exchange Rates

Prices quoted for Chinese goods may be affected by exchange rates, supplier price changes, payment-processing charges, bank charges, freight costs, and other variables.

Unless a quotation specifically states otherwise, a quotation does not guarantee a supplier’s price indefinitely.

China2SA reserves the right to revise a quotation before payment if the supplier changes its price or if there is a material change in exchange rates, shipping costs, duties, taxes, or other third-party charges.

Once the customer accepts a quotation and payment has cleared, China2SA will proceed according to the accepted quotation, subject to supplier availability.

17. Limitation of Responsibility

China2SA acts as a purchasing, receiving, consolidation, logistics, and shipping service provider.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, China2SA will not be responsible for losses resulting from supplier fraud, manufacturing defects, product quality issues, supplier delays, carrier delays, customs decisions, government actions, prohibited goods, incorrect information supplied by customers or suppliers, or other circumstances outside China2SA’s reasonable control.

Nothing in these Terms & Conditions excludes or limits liability where such liability cannot legally be excluded or limited under applicable South African law.

18. Acceptance of Terms

By registering for a China2SA account, sending goods to a China2SA warehouse, requesting China2SA to purchase goods, making payment, requesting consolidation or shipment, or otherwise using China2SA’s services, the customer confirms that they have read, understood, and agreed to these Terms & Conditions.

The customer accepts responsibility for providing accurate information and ensuring that their goods comply with applicable import, export, customs, carrier, and regulatory requirements.

China2SA reserves the right to amend these Terms & Conditions from time to time. The version published on the China2SA website at the time a service is requested will apply, subject to applicable law.

Membership Pricing, Package Limitations & Fair Usage Policy

This policy is also available as a standalone page: Fair Usage Policy.

1. Standard Package Limitations

Standard package handling fees apply to packages weighing up to 30 kg, with a maximum length of 120 cm and a maximum volume of 0.25 m³ per package. Packages exceeding any of these limits may be subject to additional handling, storage, or processing charges, regardless of membership level.

2. Oversized & Heavy Items

Oversized, overweight, bulky, unusually shaped, fragile, or difficult-to-handle items may incur additional fees. Such charges will be determined according to the item's weight, dimensions, volume, and specific handling requirements. China2SA reserves the right to provide a separate quotation for these items.

3. Fair Usage Policy

All complimentary, discounted, or included services offered under Standard, VIP, and Enterprise memberships are subject to a fair usage policy. Membership benefits do not provide unlimited access to warehouse facilities, labour, storage, or handling services. China2SA reserves the right to apply reasonable additional charges where usage exceeds normal operational levels or places an excessive burden on warehouse resources.

4. Storage Limitations

Complimentary storage periods are subject to reasonable storage volumes and warehouse capacity. Oversized items, pallets, commercial quantities, or shipments occupying excessive warehouse space may incur additional storage charges, even within the advertised free storage period. Standard storage charges will apply once the applicable complimentary storage period has expired. Storage is charged at R50 per day once the applicable complimentary storage period (Standard 7 days, VIP 14 days, Enterprise 30 days) has ended.

5. Pallets & Commercial Shipments

Palletised shipments, machinery, industrial equipment, commercial quantities, and high-volume consignments may require special handling arrangements. China2SA reserves the right to apply additional receiving, unloading, storage, consolidation, repacking, and handling charges, regardless of membership benefits.

6. Additional Handling & Service Charges

China2SA reserves the right to assess and quote additional charges for shipments requiring special equipment, additional labour, excessive processing time, unusual packaging, or handling beyond standard warehouse operations. Where practicable, customers will be informed of applicable additional charges before the relevant service is performed.

7. Shipping, Customs & Additional Costs

Membership fees and warehouse service charges do not include international freight, customs duties, import VAT, customs clearance fees, insurance, local delivery, or other third-party charges unless expressly stated otherwise. These costs will be calculated and charged separately where applicable.

8. Right to Refuse or Restrict Shipments

China2SA reserves the right to refuse, restrict, or require prior approval for shipments that are oversized, overweight, hazardous, prohibited, restricted, improperly packaged, or unsuitable for standard warehouse handling. Additional fees may apply where special arrangements are required. Any refusal or restriction will be exercised in accordance with applicable law and China2SA's Terms & Conditions.

9. Pricing & Membership Adjustments

China2SA reserves the right to amend membership pricing, service fees, package limitations, and fair usage conditions from time to time. Changes will be communicated in accordance with applicable law and will not automatically alter charges already agreed for services.

All membership benefits, complimentary services, and advertised pricing are subject to this Fair Usage Policy and the full China2SA Terms & Conditions.
